Through the red door, she walked, entering into the blackened house. Her feet did not feel the rug, nor her skin the old stale air, cold and lifeless.
She continued onward, ever so, for the hall held no twists to turn, no passages to wander.
She passed a window looking out onto a pure sky.
She paused to see the their was no land, only endless night, and the twinkling of distant life, forever out of reach.
She pressed onward.
Letting her fingers grace the rough wood paneling of the walls, she felt a splinter pierce and tear at her fingertip. Still she did not pull away. Letting the wall, the house pierce into her flesh, the delicate skin of her fingertips wet with tiny needles of wood.
The house, the walls, were in her now. She let it in, thirsty for its touch. Let them become one. Her blood spilled to the rug, a perfect match for its lush depths. The house beyond the red door was in her now, as it had been long before she graced its unhallow halls
